Never mind the fuss over Scrolls/The Elder Scrolls – if you want trademark confusion, look to DOTA.
To recap. There’s the original DOTA, aka Defense of the Ancients, a Warcraft III map. There’s Valve’s Dota 2, which doesn’t actually stand for anything, acting as a direct commercial sequel. Next year, we can expect Blizzard’s official tak... -
Not directly Blizzard related, but if you also play games over EA's new Origin service, this might interest you.
According to EA's EULA for Origin, they have the right to spy on your PC, which applications are installed, make a profile of this and monitor which websites you visit.
You know what other software does the same ?, yes that'd be spyware
The entry in their EULA involved:You agree that EA may collect, use, store and transmit technica...

THIS WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH ... or you get a refund, buy yourself some humor tablets!
Every Thursday, Australian Eastern Standard Time, a new game video review is added.
Why is this worth noting? It is hilarious at times, funny at other times, also boring, and always very well written and presented.
It is the equivalent of say the English The Guardian read and performed by Python John Cleese ... funny walk included.
It is presented by Englishman Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw, now hiding in...

Well, it’s official: the next few years are going to be extremely interesting for Blizzard. World of Warcraft is still enjoying its success atop the MMO genre, and StarCraft 2 is still raking in plenty of cash. Blizzard hasn’t made it a secret that they are hard at work on a brand new MMO, codenamed Titan, but with so many high-priority properties on the go, it’s hard to imagine what could be earning so much of the team’s energy. According to a recent interview, Blizzard feels that Titan is t...

...But they're willing to pay, if you're lucky. Today they've announced a new contest that we think is worth checking out.
Grow up on Starcraft? Counting down the minutes to the release of Diablo III, having worn your Diablo II disc down to a mere sheet of plastic? Do you treasure your World of Warcraft subscription above all else (including food and rent)? Well, this little bit of news might just interest you.
As part of Blizzard’s ongoing 20th anniversary extravaganza – catch the mas...

“The leak took place on November 29, and shortly thereafter, Blizzard China’s general manager, Ye Weilun, was said to have been fired, or at least to have resigned. However, the Marbridge Daily reported that some Blizzard sources have suggested that Weilun’s departure was long in the works and was unrelated to any data leak.”

There’s this guy who says that Blizzard’s next massively multiplayer game is “a total ball to play”. He says the game, code-named Titan, is “the type of game that will have a very long life, much like World of Warcraft has”.
This guy is biased. He’s Paul Sams and he works at Blizzard. He’s the chief operating officer of the makers of World of Warcraft. Should we trust this man?
His quotes come from a recent interview with trade site Gamasutra, in which he describes Titan as “the most am...

20 years after founding one of the biggest names in gaming, Blizzard’s co-founders have put together a video in order to thank their fans for making them who they are.
It’s incredible to look back and see how far the gaming industry has come in just the past few years. Looking back, it’s amazing to see just how far some companies have come.
It’s a wonder to think that the gaming Goliath that has come to be known as Blizzard was, 20 years ago, just another small company created by two men ... -
Your Battle.net account is slowly becoming the commodity that represents you as a Blizzard gamer. Slowly but surely, your Battle.net identity is going to morph more and more into a social profile. World of Warcraft's armory website was the prototype. The new WoW community site takes things one step further. Over time, Battle.net could look like a Blizzard Facebook, as you friend people on the site, communicate in and out of game via a unified mailbox, and share screenshots and information wit...

Twenty years is an eternity in the games industry. Few studios last anywhere near that long before either being consumed within a publishing company, or closing down entirely. According to Blizzard, two new games will be released in 2012 if nothing gets released in 2011. So basically we have a "It'll be released when it's done" here.
During an investors conference call today, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime revealed the news that we won't be seeing any of the company's games this year. It's also hesitant to announce any release date for Diablo III because it doesn't want to rush the game and risk its quality.
Besides Diablo III, Blizzard c...
