Review by steventhk 3
Needs a lot of improvements
- Units:
- There is not much specialty for units because the skin is normal and the abilities are normal too.
- Originality:
- It is not original because it copies the Aeon of Strife map
- Replay Value:
- The normal mode is boring. The only way to get rid of bore is to select different modes
Belows are the reasons that I think this map sucks.
Game play:
The game almost always lasts a bit too long even in Easy Mode. It is asymmetric and imbalanced in small proportions. There is only running / attacking and no alternative play-style. The players are unable to share gold with allies even though it is emphasized as a team game. It has too many modes without emphasize on a specific normal game mode or preferred game mode. There is a glitch where you lost multiple times the amount of gold for every enemy hero that assisted in killing you.
Balance:
One thing why some people hate DotA is “imbalance”! The abilities are imbalanced, for example: Zeus has the ultimate that hits all units in the whole map, Silencer has the ultimate that stops all enemy heroes in map from using spells, Tinker has Rockets which flies trough whole map.
Heroes:
Many heroes have no variation. There are sometimes glitches too. Most heroes have long and boring story lines. Some hero abilities do not fit the hero. From early to mid game, it is almost mandatory for most people to have increased movement speed trough purchasing of items in order to own the enemy heroes. Some agility heroes have too many disadvantages at the early game. The creator focused on hero’s quantity instead of quality. When new version is released, new hero(s) is/are added.
Items:
Some of the items are over cost / overpowered. The game is too dependent on items. It acts as the theme for the whole game because everything you do (earn gold, kill creeps, destroy towers, kill heroes), the main objective is to upgrade your items. If you dropped all your items, your hero is NOTHING! The item combination system is hard to learn and confusing. There are too much item levels in the combination.
Abilities:
Most of the abilities looked normal and are just original Warcraft III built-in abilities with edited numbering (edited mana/damage/cooldown etc). The creator is lacking effort in creating unique abilities. Some spell animations are very poor designed. Many abilities have long and unnecessary information, it complicates things and confuses the players. There are too much “I can't tell what's happening unless I ask friend who knows” abilities because the description is not clear enough and confusing. You will not know what is happening when you cast the spell until you find someone who can explain it to you. Besides that, there is no ability which can target the towers. Some of the abilities cost too much mana and cooldown. It prevents intelligence heroes from having natural good ability purposes.
Creeps:
The melee creeps can damage as good as a mid-game hero at the beginning of the game. However, at the mid-game, the creeps are nearly useless. At the end, the creeps are nothing to you. Their existence is just a waste of your computer’s memory space. The creeps are original Warcraft III units without customized skin or abilities or names. You will get bored when you saw them for a few times because it’s the same thing every time. No creativity is seen at all. The creator could try something like “10% chance to drop items upon creeps death” or adding unique creeps.
