Installation Instructions

New: Automate installation with Nibbler.

Installing maps for WarCraft 3 is as simple as copying the file to the appropriate directory.

If the file is compressed, meaning it has an extension such as .zip, you will need to uncompress this first. WinRAR is a good program to do this on Windows, and Mac OS X has a buit-in archiver.

Windows

  1. Locate the file which you downloaded.
  2. Right-click on this file, and click "Cut".
  3. Open "My Computer", and browse to your installation directory.
  4. Open the "Maps" subfolder. This is typically located in C:/Program Files/Warcraft III/Maps/.
  5. Go to "Edit" -> "Paste" on your menu.

Mac OS X

  1. Locate the file which you downloaded.
  2. Right-click on this file, and click "Copy".
  3. Open "Finder", and browse to your installation directory.
  4. Open the "Maps" subfolder. This is typically located in /Applications/Warcraft III/Maps/.
  5. Go to "Edit" -> "Paste" on your menu.

You may need to restart WarCraft 3 for it to see the newly downloaded map.
