-BW-Map_GodThis just created quite a few duplicate maps, from my initial brief scanning, and was it really necessary to upload all of those maps that came with Starcraft or Brood War as I see a lot of those in this batch. Maybe next time they can sort our the generic maps.

It shouldn't create duplicates (it still is doing the checksum on maps). The sc/bw initial maps are just kind of a bonus I guess. I'd say it's useful to have them as they can be rated/etc.

I think I'd also like to implement some kind of "based on" system, which could be useful for that as well.

I still have a ways to go (81 more pages :P) but there are definitely some duplicates. Granted there were plenty in the 8,000+ maps you had up before this. A lot of maps I saw and searched my map database and realized I had downloaded them the week before from your site (well not a lot but a few).

One example is this version of Temple Siege which was uploaded twice Sept. 8th:

I'll try and note some more examples as I go through, I posted some from earlier in another thread--not sure if you removed duplicates there or not--or if it is even really a concern. I figure though with so many maps it helps to at least eliminate duplicates if we are going to have a bunch of outdated versions of maps up.

Here's another: Dungeon Raiders, this one was up before the recent upload and is now up twice.

And another: dodge ball all-star tourney

    And another: Guitar Hero VerBeta4

Oh yea, for some reason when I try to post in (this thread only) I have to use mozilla firefox, my IE has some weird error and crashes. Could just be on my end but thought I'd mention it anyway. IE also seems to be counting two downloads for every time I click on a map to download it. I have noticed this as pages with no downloads after I dl the maps I need off it and refresh the ones I dl'ed just increased by two downloads. I think this has to do with IE asking me if I am sure I want to download or some such.
