  • TOKYO -- Milos Raonic of Canada outsted top-seeded Andy Murray to move into the final of the Japan Open, edging the defending champion 6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4) on Saturday. 49ers Kaepernick Jersey . Raonic, seeded 6th and ranked 15th, will meet Kei Nishikori in Sundays final after he routed unseeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus 6-2, 6-2 in just over one hour. Nishikori, ranked 17th, defeated Baghdatis for the first time after having lost three previous matches to the Cypriot. Nishikori and Raonic will play for the first time in the final, with the Japanese seeking his first title of the season. Playing under a blazing sun at Ariake Colosseum, the big-hitting Raonic broke Murray in the opening game of the match, then used his strong serve and powerful forehand to go up 5-3, before breaking again to claim the set 6-3. The Olympic champion looked sluggish from the outset and had to save two break points to hold serve for 1-1 in the second set. After Raonic held to go up 3-2, a frustrated Murray broke his racket by smashing it on the court. The were no breaks of serve in the second set, and the contest proceeded to a tiebreak, where Raonic misplayed a volley to give Murray a 6-5 lead and then couldnt handle a Murray forehand that gave him the tiebreak 7-5, squaring the contest. Murray turned the tide in his favour in the third set by breaking Raonic with a sublime backhand down the line to move ahead 3-1. Murray made it 4-1 on serve and looked to be in control, only to see Raonic break back for 4-3 and then hold for 4-4. Murray held to go up 5-4 and then had two match points on Raonics served in the 10th game, but could not capitalize as the Canadian held to send it to another tiebreak. Raonic took control in the tiebreak and finished it 7-5. "Live and die by the serve. Im not afraid to go for it on my second serve. I know what I am capable of," Raonic said. Murray and Raonic had split their two previous career meetings, both this year. Raonic beat Murray on clay at the Barcelona Open, while Murray knocked Raonic out of the U.S. Open in the fourth round. "The first set was poor from my side," said Murray. "I played better in the second and third sets, but it was a disappointment not close out the match. It came down to one or two points in the end." Raonic has won two tournaments this year, triumphing in Chennai, India, and San Jose, California. Colin Kaepernick Elite Jersey . The Dutch needed a spark to ignite its sputtering campaign after losing 3-2 to Bayern Munich last week followed by a lacklustre 2-1 defeat to Bulgaria on Saturday. It came in the form of Ibrahim Afellay, who was playing his first international in nearly a year after recovering from a serious left knee injury. LOUIS -- Jake Westbrook worked seven innings of three-hit ball and the St.LIVERPOOL, England -- Arsenal claimed its first Premier League victory and consigned Liverpool to its worst start to a season in 50 years with a 2-0 win at Anfield on Sunday, courtesy of goals by the visitors two big summer signings. Santi Cazorla slipped in Lukas Podolski for the Germany forwards opener in the 31st minute before the roles were reversed, with the Spain midfielder finding the net with a low 68th-minute shot that deflected in off goalkeeper Pepe Reinas elbow. They were Arsenals first goals of the new campaign and a third straight clean sheet lifted Arsene Wengers team into the top half of the standings. "The sharpness gets better from game to game but overall we looked solid," Wenger said. "We had a convincing team performance." Liverpool, which failed to add some much-needed signings to the squad on Fridays transfer deadline day, stayed in the bottom four with one point from three games under new manager Brendan Rodgers. That equaled the unwanted record of Bill Shanklys newly promoted side in the 1962-63 season. Two days after failing in their bid to sign free-scoring forward Clint Dempsey from Fulham, the hosts lack of attacking power was evident, with strikers Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini unable to create any noteworthy chances. New signing Nuri Sahin was subdued in midfield, too. It doesnt get any easier for Liverpool either, with an away match at Sunderland and then fierce rival Manchester United at home coming up after the two-week international break. "Im disappointed with the scoreline because I thought we contributed very well to the game," Rodgerrs said. Colin Kaepernick Womens Jersey. "I cant question the players attitudes. Their commitment has been brilliant since Ive been here. "Weve got what weve got," Rodgers added of his squad. "Well assess it again in January. Its something that I cant control now." For Arsenal, however, there are signs that all is not lost after the summer departures of striker Robin van Persie and holding midfielder Alex Song -- arguably its two best players last season. Cazorla, the Spain playmaker, has slotted in well in midfield, where fit-again Abou Diaby and Mikel Arteta had excellent games alongside him. And in Podolski, the Gunners have a forward who has an eye for goal like Van Persie and who can hopefully bring the best out of fellow attacker Olivier Giroud, who remains without a goal but had an encouraging display. Podolskis goal came after Steven Gerrard lost possession carelessly in Arsenals half. The German passed to Cazorla to start the counterattack, racing forward to receive a neat pass and slip a low left-footed finish past Reina. Giroud wasted a great chance four minutes before the break, before Arsenal was forced to weather some concerted pressure at the start of the second half. Liverpool couldnt turn its dominance into goals, though, and the visitors made them pay. Cazorla drifted across the pitch, switched the ball to Podolski and took the return pass before scoring. "The whole team have had a strong game," said Diaby, the France international who looks set for a regular place in Arsenals midfield if he can stay free of injury. "We need to keep going." ' ' '
