  • MONTREAL -- The International Boxing Federation has ordered Adonis Stevenson of Longueuil, Que., to face Librado Andrade in an elimination bout to determine the mandatory challenger for its world super-middleweight title. The winner would be ranked as the IBFs No. 1 contender and be in position to challenge for the title. Lucian Bute of Montreal holds the IBF belt and is scheduled to defend it against Carl Froch on May 26 in Nottingham, England. Stevensons promoter Yvon Michel was advised of the order in a letter from the IBF on Monday. The two sides have three days to notify the sanctioning body if they accept the bout. Adonis is ranked second and Andrade sixth. They were determined to be the two highest-ranked fighters available for an eliminator. The power-hitting Stevenson (17-1 with 14 knockouts) is coming off a first-round knockout of Jesus Gonzales on Feb. 18 in Montreal in his first test under acclaimed trainer Emanuel Steward.
